Technical Divers international's Advanced nitrox class is a course which explores the use of Nitrox blends from 40-100% for decompression or extended no-decompression dives. Typically we use this as a pre-requisite for the decompression procedures course. Advanced nitrox looks into the issues of oxygen toxicity, oxygen compatibility in scuba gear, oxygen "clean" definations and procedures, and the use of oxygen for accelerating decompression. The course includes 4 open water dives, six hours of classroom instruction, and a "hands-on" workshop on gas analysis and proper labeling. Pre-requisite is a recreational Nitrox certification from any Agency, as well as an advanced level certification. Tuition is $450 and does not include books, gas, charters, or equipment rentals.
